Pupil Parliament

On Friday 8thNovember, students from across the Trust came together to learn about pupil wellbeing. A guest speaker from Learning 3D, who is a Mental Wellbeing expert, spoke to the students about creating a new MLP charter for student wellbeing.

During the session, students explored their own knowledge and understanding of wellbeing and mental health, investigated a range of definitions from different national organisations and learnt about the current statistics around student mental health. The expert explored data from within the UK as well as studies UNICEF have produced from across the globe.

MLP students were tasked with presenting the information provided at the session to the rest of their academy and to work together to create a pupil led Wellbeing Charter at the next Pupil Parliament meeting.

Alun Richards, MLP Director of Education for Primary, was very grateful to Learning 3D, a Salisbury based company, for providing an expert who travelled down from the Wirral. He said “this exciting new project follows on from excellent work the Pupil Parliament created in improving the progress of sustainability across the Trust last academic year”.
