Outstanding inspection success for two of our primary schools

Bemerton St John and Amesbury Primary Schools were inspected recently with both achieving glowing reports.

Bemerton’s Ofsted inspection came weeks after the permanent appointment of Claire Pearce to the Headship of the school. We were delighted that the ungraded inspection recognised that ‘the school could be judged outstanding’ if graded. The report praises pupils, teachers and leaders, referencing children's ‘exemplary behaviour’, the ‘ambitious curriculum’ and the pride staff have in their work at the school. The Lead Inspector commented that children ‘love learning and are excited to attend school’ and that this challenging and engaging education begins the moment they start school.

Amesbury Primary School has been awarded the highest grade of ‘excellent’ in a Church School inspection. This is a significant achievement for the school which joined our Trust in December of last year. The transformation of the school under the leadership of Rachael Rogers is recognised as ‘miraculous’ and ‘life changing’. The school has been on a sustainable improvement journey since working with Magna Learning Partnership from the start of this academic year; the improvement plan is deemed ‘wisely paced’ by the report and it recognises that the school is on course for a ‘continuing upward trajectory’. The inspector also commented on the ‘excellent Christian worship’ as the ‘heartbeat’ of the school community, where ‘behaviour and engagement are outstanding’.

The primary school improvement work in our Trust is led by two Directors of Education, Helen Donnelly and Alun Richards. To contact them for further information, please email lcarley@magnalearningpartnership.org.uk
